Universal is opening its first park outside its Orlando and Hollywood centers, dedicated to popular children’s franchises including a partner, Minions, SpongeBob SquarePantsand Jurassic World.
The aptly named Universal Kids Resort will open next year in Frisco, Texas, the company said, confirming all of its themed lands with the concept art listed above.
They said the park will be transformed into an “Island of Curiosity, a whimsical portal with space for children to explore” which will include a meet-and-greet party and dance with characters from Gabby’s dollhouse. There’s also a “Shrek Swamp” with a Shrek and Fiona meet-and-greet, two “interactive play areas,” and a Puss in Boots “Del Mar” section with carnival games.

“Minions vs. Minions: Bello Bay Club” has more water attractions including Yellow Minions fighting Purple Minions. (There are purple minions? Did you know? I don’t want to know.) And at “Jurassic World Adventure Camp,” there are meetings with dinosaurs and an elaborate “Lookout Towes” play area.
The “TrollsFest” section includes a “glitter-filled meet-and-greet” and two more “interactive play areas.” And finally Bikini Bottom, which according to the press release features “oceans of marine nonsense where kids can explore Mussel Beach for some respite and Pineapple Paradise for some fun.”
There isn’t much description of the specific rides in the ad, although the Universal Kids Resort website does include concept art for some of the attractions, including Pussy in shoes Swinging and a Minions Rafting.
The Global Children’s Park will open in 2026.
