When you’re a kid, anything even a little scary can freak you out, but there were some particularly scary movies in the ’90s that had us hiding under our covers.
90s horror movies definitely had their own flair. It was an era of crazy suspense with enough horror and gore to scare you, but still make you want to see more. They also usually star the latest teen lovers and “cool” kids.

We would scan the aisles of the nearest movie theater on a Friday night until we found a copy of the latest blockbuster. Then we tell ourselves that we can handle it and that “it won’t be so scary.” Clearly we were wrong because some of these images are still engraved in our brains. Like the crazy opening scene in Screaming Where caCy Baker (Drew Barrymore) is terrorized over the phone by Ghostface.
The opening scene in Screaming It made us afraid to answer the phone and look out our windows.
How did we watch some of these movies when we were kids!? I guess parental controls didn’t exist back then if your parents weren’t around to monitor. Or maybe they thought we could handle it.
