This will be the first live action film based on The Jetsons But there was animation Jetsons Movie (Let me see here, oh yeah, The Jetsons: The Movie) which was shown in theaters in 1990. The film grossed only $20 million.
The show is best remembered for its catchy theme song.
The series follows the domestic adventures of a family in the distant future living in a futuristic utopia of flying cars, conveyor belt floors, and robotic maids. Actor George O’Hanlon voiced George Jetson in both the original 1960s episodes as well as the 1980s revival.
The Jetsons It belongs to a bygone era when people actually believed that technology would make life easy and help create a future that wasn’t, you know, terrible. Now we all know better – but maybe this breakup would make for a good movie. This is why The Brady Bunch movie It worked well. The conflict between the very wholesome 1970s sitcom family and the depressing and depressing reality of the 1990s makes for a great comedy. Perhaps a 21st century imagining of the Jetsons’ distant future would make for some dark laughs.
