When an actor accepts the role of a Marvel superhero or the captain of the USS Enterprise, they know a few things for sure. They know they will make a lot of money. They know that the Internet will hate them for the rest of their lives. They know they will be forever immortalized as an animated character.
That’s because the only way these Hollywood blockbusters work is that the studios not only make the movies, but also use them to promote and produce licensed merchandise from these blockbusters. They paint their actors’ likenesses on countless clothing items, toys, lunch boxes, Halloween masks, sofas, upscale tableware, trash cans, threshing machines, and various other items – toys being perhaps the most important and most popular item of all.
But what always amazes me is the breadth of films that have gotten toylines, not just yours Supermans and your Avengers But the movies are so random like Conical heads and Little Nicky. And with those random movies come random actors who got their own action figures as a result of their roles in those movies.
We’re not talking about the Robert Downey and Harrison Ford of the world. No no. These are the men and women you want never I thought in a million years I would get an action figure. I recently went down an internet rabbit hole (way more fun than going down an actual rabbit hole, this stuff is really dirty) looking for the most random and most confusing actors to receive action figures ever. Here, now, I present my findings.
